Bucket Craft & Pumpkin Carving
Nana and Aunt Kimmie sent buckets and foam craft packets for the kids to design their own Halloween buckets this year. They had so much fun making them and they turned out so cute! Once Ashley and Mike got home from softball we carved our pumpkins. Grandpa even got in on part of the excitement this year!
Symphony
The 5th Graders took a field trip to the Dallas Symphony. His teacher told the class that they needed to dress in nice clothes. Dylan came home and went straight to his closet in order to pick out just the right outfit for the occassion. Mike even had to make a late night trip to Kohl's in order to get some new khaki pants for him. I was very proud of his choice and thought he looked so handsome!

Subdivision Fall Festival
Mom, Dylan and Megan went to the Subdivision Fall Festival. The kids decided to change up their costumes for this event and dressed up as Darth Vader and Cinderella. The kids had fun riding the train, playing games and enjoying pizza and snacks. Megan wanted to get a pumpkin painted on her face. The lady asked her what kind of pumpkin she wanted and Megan said a "happy" pumpkin. I could not believe what she looked like when the lady finished. Megan looked like one of those evil dolls. She was scary looking and trying to clean her face that night was not fun!

Sandcastle Fall Festival
Megan's school Sandcastle had their annual Fall Festival this evening. We had a fun-filled night with plenty to do! Grandma and Grandpa were even able to join us for the fun. The kids had a great time making crafts, playing games, jumping in the bounce house, walking the cake-walk and even bidding on the class pumpkins in the silent auction! Dylan was lucky enough to win some cupcakes on the cake walk and we even walked away with The World's Largest Strawberry "Pumpkin". Our bid of $8.00 was enough for us to take it home. The kids were so excited.
A Black and White Affair
Ashley attended her school dance tonight - A Black and White Affair! She had a lot of fun talking with her friends and dancing. She was also the official photographer taking pictures for her yearbook class.

South Carolina
I just had a wonderul chance to go back to South Carolina to visit with my good friend Lori Stowe, her husband Greg and their two children. I was able to spend four days with them. It was so good to be able to catch-up, relax and spend some quality time getting to know Graham and Mallory Kate . While I was there I was also able to visit with more wonderful people who touched my life while we lived in SC - the Saunders family, Grant Bumgarner and his wife Gina, the Newcomer family and one of my old students, Vaughn, and his family. I taught Vaughn in 3rd grade and he is now a Freshman in HS. Where has the time gone? He is still that same little boy I remember and loved so much six years ago, but now he towers over me! :) Thank you all for making my trip so special and meaningful. You have all touched my life over the years and I can't thank you enough for everything you have done. I miss you all!
