Popsicles in the Park

Boals Elementary hosted the 1st Annual Popsicles in the Park for all Kindergarteners! Megan had a blast eating her popsicle and playing with some of her new friends. It was a great opportunity for all of the parents to visit as well.

First Day of School!

Well, it was funny this morning as the ENTIRE family got up and headed off to their respective schools. This school year brings a year of change for us all! Ashley starts 9th Grade today as a Freshman at Wakeland High School, Dylan enters 6th Grade at Staley Middle School and Megan will begin Kindergarten at Boals Elementary. Mike begins his teaching career as a 10th Grade Geometry teacher at Wakeland HS and I will once again be teaching Math & Science at Boals. We are all so excited to be on the same schedule and looking forward to what this year holds for us all.

Blessings of the Packpacks

Grace Avenue United Methodist Church has a special children's moment every year before the beginning of school and how special it was!! It is called "Blessings of the Backpacks". All of the children our called to the front of the church for the Children's Moment and they bring their backpacks. They talk about school and the year ahead and then say a prayer over their backpacks. Each child was given a special tag for their backpack. Megan is so proud of hers! Of course, I cried!!

Meet the Teacher Night

After much anticipation over the summer...tonight was finally "Meet the Teacher" night! Both Mommy, Daddy and Aunt Kimmie were able to take Megan to meet her Kindergarten teacher - Ms. Hicks! Mommy had to leave early to get down to her class, but she was able to spend sometime with her in her new room. She loved meeting Ms. Hicks, her new classmates and unpacking all of her school supplies. She is all ready to start the new year on Monday!

Back to School Pictures

Aunt Kimmie & I took the kids to the mall to have their "Back to School" pictures taken. I decided last year that I wanted a special picture taken before school began that would be meaningful for this year in our lives. The kids are all in their "1st" year of school at all three levels - Elementary (Kinder), Middle School (6th) and High School (9th). My friend Allison made them shirts for me to signify their years. They were adorable...thanks Allison! What an exciting time in our lives!! After the pictures we enjoyed a delicious dinner at LaHacienda Ranch!

Family Time

Uncle Tim, Aunt Crystal and "Baby" Joel made a surprise visit to Frisco. They were only in town for about 36 hours or so, but we had a great time while they were here. Linda & Dean cooked a great meal and we went swimming after.

Aunt Kimmie's Visit

Kimberly was so sweet and came to visit us the week that Mike & I had to go back to school and she watched the kids for us. What a huge help! Thanks Kimberly!! :) Of course we had an unbelievable time as usual. We enjoyed just hanging out at the house, but of course had to hit all of our regular restaurants and shopping spots and even added a couple of new places to the list.

Wakeland Volleyball

Aunt Kimmie was so excited that she was able to be in town when Ashley played volleyball. She actually got to see Ashley (#12) play two nights in a row at Wakeland! It was fun watching Ashley and her team play and brought back lots of memories for Kimberly of when she played in school.
