After leaving Boulder we headed to Estes Park for a two hour horseback ride and a steak cook-out with all of the sides to go along with it. Our whole family was to go, but Megan got scared at the last minute so she stayed back with some other team parents that were not going. Our adventure started off in the rain, but ended up being a beautiful late afternoon ride. Ashley and her team went in a group in front of all of the parents and siblings. Ashley was the only one on her team that had never riden a horse. Long story short, I think that was Ashley's first and last ride. It was not her cup of tea! As one of her teammates told her, "Ashley, you are just a city girl!" Dylan however, did not want to get off of his horse. He and "Tulip" made quit the connection. It was an awesome experience for all of us and once again what a better place to ride a horse than the mountains of Colorado. BEAUTIFUL!! Megan felt bad that she did not make the ride with us, so when we got back to the hotel, she said, "look Mommy, I am not afraid to ride a horse anymore." Priceless!!
